About Dennis

I am a psychologist initially licensed in Washington State in 1979. After I received my Master"s Degree from University of Washington in 1972 I worked at American Lake Veteran"s Hospital with the Alcohol Treatment Program. Having begun in 1974 I completed my doctoral studies at the University of Arizona in 1976. My doctoral dissertation research focused on human sexuality. From 1977 to 1984 I worked for The Boeing Company. I completed research on alcoholism in the work place, served as a consultant to corporate officers on issues and policies pertaining to alcohol and drug abuse and mental health concerns and developed the Company"s alcohol and mental health services. Since I launched my private practice I have served as a consultant to companies, residential chemical dependency and mental health programs, provided forensic psychology services, individual, couples and group psychotherapy, and intensive residential psychotherapy workshops.

I have been active in the Washington State Psychological Association and was President of WSPA in 1984 and on the Executive Board for seven years. I served as a pro tem member of the Licensing Board for Psychology in WA St for fifteen years.

In 2003 the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) recognized me as a Specialist in Clinical Psychology. ABPP is one of the most respected psychology credentialing organizations in this country. They review an applicant's graduate education, professional experience, background, references, conduct and practices. A final step in this process was a four-hour examination by a panel of senior psychologist.

Since I was licensed as a psychologist I have continued my education and training. This has included extensive training and education in psychodrama and sociometry, object relations theory and practice, Internal Family Systems theory and practice, hypnosis and couples therapy.

I have provided education and training to physicians, psychologists and other health care providers. I have given presentations to many professional and non-professional groups on topics ranging from experiential psychotherapy, alcohol and drug evaluation and treatment, couples therapy, to dealing with troubled employees.
